i got the game and the new drums. i only played the first one for one night and really sucked at the drums (on easy lol) these new drums are quieter and a lil easier to play now. its good fun so far. my lil sister decided she likes playing bass even though she didnt want to play at first. then i found out the xbox headset works as the RB mic if you dont have one.

anyone else getting this? everything is sold separately right now for 360 and the whole bundle will be out on 360 and ps3 next month.

also you can copy most (55) of the rock band 1 songs for $5 to the new game. they are saying that and the download content a and the 84 songs on the disk will add up to 500 songs by the end of the year

I dunno if Kat has an itching for the newest one, as RB1 doesn't get showcase time currently. It's cool they made the Drums a little more quiet, but not enough for buying another drum kit. :p

I suspect once she sees some must-play songs, she might want the game onry, but I'm not thinkin it's high on her list. :)

Just waking up, but Destructoid has some Instrument info up.

Browsed the Song List last night @ wiki.
Saw Painkiller is in there, and is the hardest track in the game by rating.
Awesome song, somewhere I almost want to get the game just to play the drum opening.

Seen a couple of videos of charts on tier 7, they look OK but a few look awkward to play... at least they'll challenge me, I only failed once on RB's expert career. I think it was 98% through GG&HT.

whoa, how are they chugging out the sequels like 8 months after the original titles are dropping? this seems like a fad that died last year.

Yeah Bro, the games with minimal storylines, make for insane easy rehash sequels. Franchise Death!

the new drums will have cymbal add-ons soon. so they are more different than just quiet. and the foot pedal is better now

im trying to figure out a good time to run through the endless playlist. 84 songs in a row. about 6.5 hour trip :p

I remember when Chop Suey was played fucking everywhere like, what, 6-7 years ago? Remember being like... aaaaaaahhh no more.

Graphics look pretty legit.... I'm used to seeing guitar hero on a PS2 though... this looks a little more sweet.

Oh, and I like how they went with the sunburst strat for the controller. Hell yeah.

Anyhoo... probably won't ever own a guitar hero / rock band.... but they are fun when you are too drunk to play real guitar.

new rockband.com is up. you can generate pics of your band members and they did the warcraft thing where you can make figurines of your characters too.

see if this works
http://www.rockband....preview/qid/661

that may not work if you dont have a profile.

so you can just look at my pics

Seems like rockband is winning over GH.

But lately I've noticed the fade fizzling out a little bit. But maybe not, I don't know.

Out of all our IRL Buddies who were swooning for GH3 and RB, I have yet to hear one of them pop interest into the latest installments. I suspect the $$$ wrenching is a little much for most people. It sure is for me, Game Only or not.

I just think the new installments already being out is lazy. It's hard for a game to remain a hit, if you press a new installment every 9-12 months, unless it's built for that (IE Series of Installments with a Plot).

Even so, with that frequent a release schedule, they should drop the prices @ Day 1. $60.00 for a Game with little core enhancements is kinda like rape.
